The 16 Emerging Women Award is premised upon the belief that we need not wait for an "endpoint" to celebrate women or limit our celebration to women who are already established voices. Rather we should celebrate women right on their evolution journey at all levels.
The 2024 Awards spotlight on 16 women who are currently navigating their journey of emergence with fierce convictions, unbeatable passion and visionary elegance. These rising stars represent a cross section of new generation women living in the conviction of the the beauty of their journey, creating solutions from their own corner, impacting communities and elevating particularly the continent of Africa through their work across multiple sectors including education, technology, business, sciences, pharmacy, law etc.

Temitope is a trainee adult facilitator, an engaged thinker, and an epic writer. She is passionate about supporting young girls who have faced challenges in learning skills due to a flawed system. To address this issue, she aims to create a platform where they can easily learn. Additionally, she aspires to enter the field of communication, utilizing her skills to become an event host and on-air presenter. With her strong writing abilities, Temitope is eager to continue crafting epic poems, both fiction and non-fiction, addressing life's issues as they relate to her.
Wonderful is a software engineer who is enthusiastic in applying technology to solve real-world problems. She leads the Tech Girls' Club team, which has impacted over 2000 girls and women in Nigeria through webinars, bootcamps, and club events. Her focus lies in encouraging young girls and women to pursue careers in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Her belief is that more women are needed in the world to discover creative, long-lasting, and empathetic solutions to global issues.
Deborah is a law graduate turned prolific author. She is deeply passionate about early-age digital literacy for underserved kids. Her dedication led her to found the Visionary Vanguard Initiative, aiming to bridge the digital divide and advocate for policy change in education. Through her books and advocacy, Deborah is making a tangible difference in ensuring every child has access to the tools needed to thrive in the digital age.
Anita is a final-year law student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She is dedicated to her journey of becoming a leader that transforms society and raising same in other women. Anita is actively contributing to the social impact sector through her activities with The Matela Foundation which is targeted at building a sustainable ecosystem for young girls in Africa. Anita hopes to become a renowned international lawyer making massive economic impact in African nations. She believes strongly in the dream of changing the world, one girl at a time.
Esther is invested in adding value to lives and spaces. As a healthtech product manager, she merges her medical background with tech to improve health outcomes. She's a One HealthTech fellow, African Digital Epidemiology Innovation Network Ambassador, and the President of the African Digital Health Professionals Network, a Pan-African community of professionals aiming to improve healthcare in Africa with digital technology. Esther sees herself as an emerging industry authority - leading product innovation to transform healthcare and consulting for relevant organisations globally.
Damilola is an excellent young lawyer who started her professional career in the corporate world. Though she has a background in law, her passion and heart lies in the Educational sector of her country, Nigeria; she has a passion to see the indigent properly schooled in an Educational institution and in life. Damilola is also a proficient writer who has changed a number of lives with her faith based write-ups through the years.
Omotunde is a final-year law student at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her academic and professional journey is a testament to the unique blend of her interests and skills in law, finance, leadership, and policy development. Omotunde has distinguished herself and garnered recognition from prestigious global organisations, including the World Intellectual Property Organization. Her journey signals a promising trajectory towards achieving her goal of leading impactful and sustainable projects that will contribute to the legal and socio economic development in Nigeria.
Damilola is passionate with a vision to see youths in Africa live their best lives. Her mantra is : "No one is a nonentity, everyone just needs the right environment and opportunity to thrive." She pursues this vision by helping young individuals especially those in rural communities discover themselves, their abilities and lead a meaningful life through Dharmarvelinspire Africa Initiative, an NGO she founded. She works as a consultant with a multinational consulting firm solving clients’ problems with her expertise in Project management and Organizational Change Management.
Taiwo is a young global leader with a career which straddles for-profits and non-profits, and expertise in healthcare strategy, communications and international development. A pharmacist by training, Taiwo leverages her multifaceted experiences in startups and international organisations to strengthen healthcare systems through health workforce development, policy shaping, and market access. She is also a quintessential event host for high-level conferences and summits. Taiwo empowers early and mid-career professionals to attain public speaking excellence through her high-impact coaching model.
IyanuOluwa is a versatile University of Ibadan law student. She excels in leadership, social impact, and culinary arts. A two-time student body leader, she volunteers, won a hackathon, and creates award-winning social media content. Aspiring professor, she dreams of attending Le Cordon Bleu, Paris and showcasing Nigerian cuisine globally.
Abigael is on a journey of connecting the dots for a sustainable, future-proof education system in Africa. Abigael has over six years experience in social innovation cutting across STEM, gender equality and recently, future thinking fields. She leads SheSOLVES Africa, a social enterprise committed to closing the gender gap in STEM. She has volunteered with and led various projects with some United Nations agencies amongst others. She is a Next Generation Foresight Practitioner (NGFP) Fellow with the School of International Futures and a Project Associate with re:learn by Co-creation Hub.
Taiwo is a professional in the financial services industry. Subsequently, she provides succour for missionaries in Northern Nigeria and some parts of Africa through Mission Ally Foundation. She strongly believes that missionaries are God's employees and should be rewarded from the purse of God's people. She equally tells the stories of those with beautiful feet through her podcast, the Big Deal About Missions Podcast. Taiwo aspires to work with the United Nations soon as a Global Project Manager and cater to a million missionaries across the continents.
Busola is a registered nurse with keen interest in oncology research and an enthusiast in matters relating to God, teenagers, business, and research. She spearheads the NGO, Teens Train with bussyjoro, which uses various platforms including coaching to help teenagers refine and harness their unique giftings with the aim of being a holistic being. She is impact-driven, transformative leader, advocating for a holistic approach to life and is on a mission to transform patient care in Africa by deploying her expertise and working with teams of physicians and other healthcare specialists.
Oluwafolakemi is a licensed Pharmacist in Nigeria and has a strong interest in the industrial aspect of Pharmacy. She has the vision to provide lasting solutions to diseases without cure yet. Aside from being a Pharmacist, Oluwafolakemi is also an entrepreneur. She is the Creative Director at PHOLA Cakes; a brand that focuses on making various flavors of cakes with unique tastes. She has always dreamt of having her business on different Continents; starting from Africa.
Monioluwa is a clinical pharmacist who is on a journey to pursue her passion for paediatric pharmacy. She is keen on contributing to public health initiatives that combat adolescent substance abuse, addiction, and other mental health disorders. She is a teens' coach who co-founded a teen-focused ministry, TeenXpress, where over 100 teenagers have been positively impacted since its existence. Finally, she's an interior designer with a special interest in children's interior design in residential, healthcare, and social spaces and how it contributes to their all-round development.
Taiwo is a certified beauty therapist and wellness coach from the City and Guilds of London and also a member of the British Beauty Council. She helps people regain their confidence by providing solutions to their various health and skin issues. She is passionate about helping people live a healthy lifestyle through their diet and ensuring they use the right products for their skin type.
